If you've spent any amount of time around church, you've probably heard someone talk about being "saved." Maybe you've heard someone say, "I got saved when I was seventeen," or "Have you been saved?"
For some people, that language feels completely normal. For others, it feels confusing, outdated, or even a little strange.
Saved from what?
A lot of people think Christianity is mainly about escaping hell or getting through life with a little inspiration on Sundays. But the story of Exodus has shown us something much deeper.
Exodus was never just about getting Israel out of Egypt. It was about getting God back into the center of His people.
After the slavery…
After the plagues…
After the wilderness…
After the rebellion…
After the waiting…
God moves in.
There are moments in life where everything changes in an instant.
A call. A diagnosis. A wedding. A funeral. A salvation.
One second you’re standing in one reality… and the next, everything is different.
That’s what Exodus 12 is.
For generations, Israel had lived in slavery. Egypt was all they knew. Their parents were slaves. Their grandparents were slaves. Entire generations were born into bondage, wondering if freedom would ever actually come.
And then one night changed everything.
